We're looking for a dedicated volunteer tutor for our singing class at Wesley School for Seniors. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your love of music and create a joyful space for our enthusiastic seniors students.

More than just singing, it's about well-being.

Singing, especially in a group setting, offers amazing benefits for brain health and overall well-being. It can be particularly helpful for our seniors, fostering a sense of belonging and providing valuable social connection, especially for those living with dementia.

Experience and Skill:

• Vocal ability: You'll need to have a good understanding of vocal technique and be able to demonstrate proper singing yourself.

• Musical knowledge: The ability to sing and play a musical instrument effectively, you need a solid foundation in music theory, including ear training, sight-reading, and familiarity with various musical styles.

• Communication skills: Ability to explain complex musical concepts in a clear and concise way that is easy for students to understand.

• Patience and empathy: Singers come in all skill levels. Being patient and encouraging is essential to help students feel confident and bring out the best in them

• Ability to tailor instruction: Ability to adapt your teaching style to fit the needs of each individual student.

As a volunteer tutor, you’re committed to conduct:

• Weekly sessions lasting 1 to 2 hours

• Anytime between 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday.

• Term commences on Monday 14 Oct, and concludes on Friday, 20 Dec 2024

• Open for discussion for online class

Our school is conveniently situated in Sydney’s CBD, in close proximity to Town Hall or St James station.
