Dungog & District Neighbourcare is a not-for-profit In-Home Community Care Provider with clients living across the Dungog LGA. We require volunteers to provide companionship and social support for our clients who may be aged, living with disabilities, or experiencing disadvantage. The service provides highly valued social interaction and ensures clients remain connected to the community and functional in their own lives.

Our Social Support Individual & Group programs are designed to:

  • provide an opportunity for people to meet together to participate in activities of their choice
  • assist in maintaining independence and social involvement of those who attend
  • provide carers with support and day respite
  • provide skill retention and development, outings and a range of activities, promoting self-esteem to clients.

As a Volunteer, you will:

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for clients by being a friendly face and helping hand
  • Assist with daily activities, outings or transportation
  • Encourage clients to be as independent as possible
  • Stimulate and encourage conversation
  • Be courteous, have a sense of humour and good communication skills.
  • Need a current Drivers Licence

Have fun while helping our clients live their best life!
