Children’s Rights Queensland (CRQ) is a non-profit organisation with a rich 50-year history of promoting children’s rights and supporting communities. Our mission is to deliver a range of initiatives that educate communities and raise awareness of children’s rights as stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. CRQ convenes Children’s Week in Queensland, which celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood.

The role of the Reconciliation Lead is to guide and facilitate initiatives that foster reconciliation and understanding within the community, in alignment with the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The Reconciliation Lead is also responsible for collaborating with First Nations Peoples to develop educational child rights resources and content, and collaborating with various stakeholders to advance reconciliation efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Required to attend meetings of the Executive every 6-8 weeks.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
  • Collaborate with First Nations Peoples to develop educational child rights resources and content.
  • Manage a dedicated budget for reconciliation-related resources and activities.
  • Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance reconciliation initiatives.
  • Participate in Child Rights Alliance meetings to support reconciliation efforts.
  • Engage with CRQ Ambassadors and partners to promote reconciliation initiatives.
  • Complete any additional tasks as directed by the CRQ Executive.
