Role purpose The Volunteer Food Packers and Client Liaison will work in a team of 2-3, who will be responsible sorting through and bundling a diverse range of fruit and vegetables and meat products . Clients come to our Centre in the afternoon for collection, they may also purchase other products available for individual sale. About the role ; As part of your role as a Crateful volunteer, you will/maybe required to do the following: • Follow the team leader’s instructions • Sort through food items including produce, meat and eggs which are both fresh and spoiled • Practice safe lifting techniques and lift crates to the weight of up to 6 kilograms • Walk up and down up to 10 steps whilst carrying a crate up to 6 kilograms • Stack shelves, put items in upright fridge and chest freezer • Bag produce • Sort through clothing items • General tidy up including wiping down of shelves, sweeping and mopping
• Assist with food distribution to local social housing areas • Raise any safety or other concerns with team leader • Asit with sale of individual retail products • Be willing to provide basic information such as your drivers licence number and contact details and also under go a Working With Children Check or any other check deemed necessary
