Role purpose The Volunteer Van driver will work in a team of 2-3, who will be responsible Driving the Corporate van to the Supermarkets sorting through and collecting surplus goods (Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Meat and Personal Hygiene products) . And then loading the van , driving it back to our Centre and assist in unloading the produce.

Job Description ; As part of your role as a Crateful volunteer, you will/maybe required to do the following: • Follow the team leader’s instructions • Drive the Crateful van in a safe manner which includes obeying all road rules • Sort through food items including produce, meat and eggs which are both fresh and spoiled • Practice safe lifting techniques and lift crates to the weight of up to 6 kilograms • Walk up and down up to 10 steps whilst carrying a crate up to 6 kilograms • Load crates into the van • Sort through clothing items • Assist with food distribution to local social housing areas • Raise any safety or other concerns with team leader • Be willing to provide basic information such as your driver's licence number and contact details and also undergo a Working with Children Check or any other check deemed necessary .
