Raffle Volunteer
Established in 1990, Open Support is a community service organisation committed to providing assistance to families in need across NSW through the active participation of trained volunteers and staff.
Inspired by the Sisters of Charity, Open Support responds to unmet needs in society through reducing social isolation and supporting families affected by domestic violence.
The primary focus of the Volunteer Market Day and Raffle Assistant is to support the activities of Open Support fundraising.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Daily preparation of the raffle table and sales equipment e.g. set up raffle table, collect tickets and float (assistance available if needed).
- Manage cash sales of tickets.
- Familiarisation with raffle prizes, draw date etc.
- Be alert to the possibility of theft and be aware of security at all times including securing tickets and float if away from the raffle table.
- Be aware of Open Support programs and refer enquiries to appropriate people when necessary
- Accept donations for Open Support.
Essential requirements for the role:
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (we provide the latter)
- Demonstrated knowledge or previous experience in retail and POS or willingness to learn
- High level effective interpersonal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work independently or equally effectively as part of a team
- Proven reliability and punctuality
- Shows initiative with a commonsense approach
