TRISS Program Volunteer in Parramatta

Looking for a way to make a positive impact in your community? Consider becoming a volunteer for the TRISS Program in Parramatta! Our Outreach Program is designed to provide support and encouragement to consumers and carers through regular check-ins and friendly conversations.

What kind of Volunteer Work will I be doing?

As a TRISS Program volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with program participants, who will be able to choose the days and times that work best for them to receive calls. This flexibility ensures that participants can access the support they need, when they need it. Whether they're in a regional area and feeling isolated, dealing with social challenges, or just looking for extra support, this program can help.

Time Required: 3-4 hours a week between Monday to Friday for 12 months or longer. Shifts are 9:45am – 1pm OR 12:45pm – 4pm (we can arrange a suitable day and time for you).

Who can volunteer?

We are seeking volunteers who have empathy, an understanding of the impact of mental illness and good listening and communication skills. Volunteers include people who want to make a positive difference to the lives of consumers and carers and we encourage all individuals with experience in psychology, social work and human services to apply.

Your benefits

  • Positive Impact: Play a crucial role in reducing isolation and promoting mental well-being for individuals in need. This is more than a volunteer role—it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness.
  • Skill Development: We provide you with 2 days of Mental Health First Aid Training and 2 days of TRISS training (all paid by One Door Mental Health), as well as training in our data systems.
  • Community Connection: Build meaningful relationships within your community and with other passionate volunteers.
  • Professional Growth: Gain valuable experience that can bolster your resume, especially if you have a background or interest in psychology, social work, or human services.

How can I apply?
