We are looking for some enthusiastic and energetic people who’d love join the Starlight team to SHINE as a volunteer at the nightly fireworks show at the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).

The Ekka is one of Queensland's largest and most loved annual events, attracting on average 400,000 people. This year, Ekka will run for 9 days from the 10th - 18th August, 2024. The iconic show has been running since 1876 and is full of traditions, a unique atmosphere and childhood memories that have been passed down through generations of families. This is Starlight's first year being involved in the Ekka and we are so excited to share this event with our amazing volunteers who will support us each night.

Volunteers will help to sell starlight wands prior to the fireworks show each night, with each shift running from 4:45pm to 8:00pm. We ask that volunteers please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift start time.

This is a family friendly volunteering opportunity, each volunteer will receive free entry to the Ekka for their shift, and a single pass entry for a separate day.
