Gardening Group Volunteers

Are you passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of older people? When you become an Anglicare Volunteer you are joining a team of thousands who brighten people’s lives everyday. Enhance lives of our Residents by assisting them to continue with their love of gardening.
We have a home at Castle Hill which has a number of raised garden beds and potted plants in outdoor areas. Experience with gardens and/or horticulture is needed. Volunteer would be supported by staff as needed and provided with necessary tools for the role.
Duties may include: • Assist with establishing seasonal planting in various container gardens and garden beds • Assist Residents with choices of seedlings to be planted • Assist Residents with maintaining their personal (raised) garden beds • Have a chat and cuppa with residents
Weekday role, times are flexible.
You will receive excellent support from our dedicated staff and should find your time volunteering personally rewarding as well. Our residents are incredible individuals with rich stories and life experiences that they often enjoy sharing during activity times. They are always eager to connect, as time spent with visitors brings joy and enriches their lives.
