Looking for a really rewarding experience and have a desire to contribute to helping the community.

We’re seeking a person to join our wonderful staff and volunteers at the Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre. The Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre is a vibrant place used by the community for information, help, support, food assistance etc.

Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre operates a weekly food assistance program from the Centre. program helps support and care for people struggling to afford food. The program is supported by food donations from local supermarkets whom we partner with.

The Role The purpose of the Volunteer Diver role is to collect food from our supermarket supplier/s for our Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre. Our Volunteer Drivers are accompanied by one of our Volunteers as a passenger to assist. Volunteer Drivers are required to use their own vehicle and/or trailer for this task.

Key responsibilities: - • Drive to and from assigned supermarket/s; • Load food into vehicle and/or trailer and deliver to Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre with assistance from volunteer/s;

About You - Selection Criteria Essential Criteria:

  1. Own a car and with capacity (or trailer) to transport food;
  2. Possess current driver’s license and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
  3. Physical mobility with ability to lift small loads
  4. Good interpersonal skills
  5. Possess current NSW Working with Children’s Check
  6. Possess National Criminal History Police Check Clearance issued within last 6 months
