About Us The Australian Pet Welfare Foundation (APWF) is a dedicated research, education, and advocacy organisation with an unwavering commitment to share knowledge that improves the health and wellbeing of pets, people and their environments. We aim to make a substantial impact by creating new knowledge through research; promoting evidence-based insights to benefit the community, shelters and pounds, government and veterinarians; and advocating for fundamental shifts that create change and save lives.

** About the Community Cat Program ** The Australian Community Cat Program aims to achieve "Getting Australia to Zero by 2027," focusing on reducing the number of urban stray cats through a One Welfare approach to cat management that benefits cats, people and the environment. This collaborative initiative involves researchers from major Australian universities, local and state governments, welfare and rescue groups like RSPCA and AWL, veterinarians, and international partners. By integrating expertise from veterinarians, ecologists, psychologists, and other specialists, the program strives to enhance animal welfare, reduce the environmental impact of stray cats, and promote effective and humane cat management practices across Australia.
