Calrossy Anglican School is looking for suitable volunteers to be considered for appointment to the Calrossy Foundation. We are seeking further representation from the Calrossy alumni community to provide a connection to our school’s history and culture.

New Foundation members will contribute to a diverse and multi-faceted committee that will allow us to change the shape of regional education into the future and assist in the delivery of the School's Strategic Plan. Applications are invited from both Tamworth based alumni and alumni based in other locations.

Successful appointees will support the advancement of the Calrossy Foundation in a manner that is inclusive and sensitive to the life experiences of past and present students, parents, and staff.

We are seeking three (3) new Foundation members representing Alumni from the following eras: (1) 1960 – 1990 (2) 1990 - 2000 and (3) 2000 – 2020.

About the Calrossy Foundation The Calrossy Foundation was established in 2019 in our School’s centenary year, to provide investment to support future generations of students by providing scholarships and school resources. It has already supported significant student outcomes with potential for this to grow. In 2024 more than twenty Calrossy students are being supported by the Foundation Scholarships in honour of Mary England (Melville 43) and Ms. Ruth Munro (ex-Calrossy staff). The Library Fund has made investments including improving audio-visual facilities on the Brisbane Street Campus. The Annie Parr Building was completed in 2021 with the support of a $350,000 investment from the Foundation.

Community connections are our heart, and we are dedicated to supporting and engaging with our alumni and past staff networks as well as utilising our cohort of current parents and friends of the school to enhance our future.

Foundation Priorities The Foundation is focused specifically in the following areas: ● Building Fund - Aimed at changing the shape of regional education through long term projects to develop modern learning facilities in partnership with the school. ● Bursary Fund – The Bursary fund provides short term financial assistance to families in need.
● Library Fund - Access to high quality resources is paramount to allow our students from Prep to Year 12 to thrive as engaged, courageous and confident learners. ● Scholarship – Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students on merit and in recognition of Mary England (Melville 43) and Ms. Ruth Munro who both made significant contributions to Calrossy.

The Foundation Committee The Calrossy Foundation Committee is a subcommittee appointed by the Board, meeting regularly to discuss and review investment strategy and community engagement plans. It comprises of representatives from across the entire Calrossy community (Board, executive, staff, parents and alumni) and is focused on enhancing community connections with our school and helping to change the shape of regional education into the future.

Ideally, our committee members possess varied experience in the for profit and not for profit sectors, providing strategic input to advance philanthropic support for students and families.

Committee Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Promoting awareness of the Foundation and its community engagement.
  2. Providing input, guidance and participation in the development and execution of the Strategic Plan.
  3. Assisting with the investment strategy and communication plans, to achieve the strategic objectives and priorities of the Foundation;
  4. Acting as Ambassador for the Foundation and advocating for positive outcomes for students.

We are looking for three (3) new committee members with experience or skills in some of the following areas: ● Marketing and sales ● Fundraising/philanthropy ● Risk, governance and compliance ● Strategic planning ● Investment and funds management ● Technology and IT systems

Committee Members are appointed to the Calrossy Foundation for two (2) years. There is a maximum term of one (1) re-appointment, being a cap of four (4) years. Committee Member positions are voluntary and there is no remuneration for your time invested in fulfilling the role of Committee Member.
