What does a JAS Admin volunteer do?

  • Supports the JAS staff and frontline volunteers with administration tasks and assists with client communication

  • Conducts phone interviews with JAS clients

  • Works on projects to recruit frontline volunteers in courts and police stations around the state

  • Helps with JAS team communication

  • Assists with compliance and reference checks

The JAS is a program of the Intellectual Disability Rights Service (IDRS). IDRS provides free services for people with cognitive impairment across NSW providing help with legal problems. We work alongside people with cognitive impairment to promote and protect their rights. More information and direct applications can be found on the IDRS website.

Who are you?

*You are someone who is flexible and has availability between the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon-Fri.

*You possess a tolerant and empathetic nature, and have strong computer and telephone skills and great communication and listening skills, along with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and boundaries.

This is a long term volunteering position requiring a minimum commitment of 12 months. IDRS is a Centrelink approved organisation.
