About Epilepsy ACT: Epilepsy ACT is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by epilepsy in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. We provide a range of services, including advocacy, education, and support, to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy and raise awareness within the community.

Position Overview: Epilepsy ACT is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors as Non-Executive Directors. This volunteer position entails providing strategic guidance and oversight to the organisation, ensuring that we continue to fulfill our mission effectively and sustainably. Non-Executive Directors play a vital role in shaping the direction of Epilepsy ACT and contributing to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities: • Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings. • Contribute expertise and insights to discussions on strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. • Perform duties outside of board meetings as required, which may include assisting with writing policy documents, grant proposals, statistical planning, and other organisational activities. • Utilise specific skills and connections to support Epilepsy ACT's initiatives. • Act as ambassadors for Epilepsy ACT within their respective networks and communities, raising awareness and fostering partnerships.

Skills and Qualifications: • Connections or experience in one or more of the following areas: • Medical • Media/Marketing • Allied Health • Disability • Law/Legal • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and with diverse stakeholders. • Commitment to the mission and values of Epilepsy ACT.

Time Commitment: • Quarterly board meetings (approximately 4 times a year). • Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
