Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction: Greet and interact with patients in a friendly and respectful manner, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued. Prescription Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret prescriptions provided by optometrists. Frame Selection Assistance: Help patients choose appropriate frames based on their preferences and the specific requirements of their prescriptions. Lens Specification: Provide guidance on lens options, including single vision, bifocals, and progressive lenses. Order Processing: Manage and process orders for spectacles, ensuring accuracy in specifications and timely delivery. Spectacle Fitting and Adjustment: Fit and adjust spectacles to ensure comfort and optimal vision for patients. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of patient prescriptions, orders, and any adjustments made. Quality Control: Inspect spectacles upon arrival to ensure they meet quality standards and are in accordance with the prescribed specifications. Patient Education: Educate patients on the proper care and use of their spectacles.
Qualifications:
Certification: Certification in Optical Dispensing or a related field is preferred but not necessary. Experience: Previous experience in an optical dispensing role, preferably in a clinical or charitable setting. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in using optical dispensing tools and software.
