Assistant Program Coordinators for the UNAAQ Peace & Security Program

Primary Objective(s)

The role of the position is to support the Program Coordinator, Assistant Program Manager, and the Program Manager in the overall coordination and organisation of the UNAAQ Peace and Security Program.

Key Tasks

  • Designation as the key supporter of the Research Team, Event Team, and/or Communications Team based upon your personal skills and knowledge.
  • Support the Coordinator with organisation of meetings and workshops for members which may include seeking RSVPs, securing venues, and taking minutes.
  • Attendance and minute-taking at quarterly Leadership Team meetings.
  • Assist with membership maintenance alongside the Coordinator through facilitating orientation.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins across all active members of your designated team/s.
  • Attendance at Program events and provision of support for events where necessary.
  • Additional support tasks upon request, e.g. social media content creation, research article reviews, etc.

Knowledge, skills and experience desired

  • An understanding of event planning, preparing research articles, and/or media and marketing
  • Enthusiasm towards acquiring skills in leadership and training
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to work to timelines
  • Familiarity with office technology, internet research skills and proficiency in using MS office suite, and Google apps
  • Capacity to take initiative and responsibility
  • An interest in peace and security issues as well as a desire to learn and increase awareness of issues

Commitment Required

As this is a leadership role within the Program which requires significant training and support, only applicants who can commit at least 6 months to the role are asked to apply.
