As a Volunteer Fundraising Assistant for Santa Paws, you will provide valuable support to the Fundraising Coordinator in organising and executing fundraising initiatives aimed at supporting our mission to rescue and rehome dogs in need. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about animal welfare, fundraising, and making a difference in their community.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising Campaign Support:

• Assist the Fundraising Coordinator in planning, promoting, and managing various fundraising campaigns leading up to and during the event.
• Help develop fundraising materials, such as appeal letters, emails, social media posts, and website content, to engage donors and supporters.
• Support the implementation of online fundraising campaigns, including setting up donation platforms, tracking donations, and sending thank-you messages.

Donor Engagement and Relationship Building:

• Assist in maintaining relationships with existing donors and supporters, including sending acknowledgements, updates, and invitations to participate in fundraising activities.
• Help identify and research potential donors, sponsors, and partners to expand Santa Paws’ network of supporters.
• Support efforts to cultivate donor relationships through personalised communication, stewardship activities, and recognition opportunities.

Event Fundraising Activities:

• Assist in planning, organising, and executing fundraising activities and initiatives during the event, such as raffles, auctions, donation drives, and merchandise sales.
• Assist with logistics, such as setting up fundraising booths, managing inventory, and processing donations.

Promotion and Marketing Assistance:

• Support the promotion of fundraising activities and initiatives through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and community outreach.
• Help distribute promotional materials, such as flyers, posters, and signage, to raise awareness about fundraising opportunities and Santa Paws.
• Assist in leveraging media opportunities and partnerships to increase the visibility and reach of fundraising efforts.

Administrative and Reporting Tasks:

• Assist with administrative tasks related to fundraising, such as maintaining donor databases, tracking expenses, and preparing reports on fundraising performance.
• Provide support in analyzing fundraising data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement.
• Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements related to fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

• Passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the Santa Paws mission
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and supporters.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in using fundraising software, online platforms, and social media for donor engagement and campaign management.
• Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.
