Fundraising Coordinator

As a Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator for our Santa Paws Charity Event, you will be instrumental in organising and executing fundraising initiatives aimed at supporting our mission to rescue and rehome dogs in need. You will play a key role in developing and implementing creative fundraising strategies to maximise donations and engage supporters. This position requires strong communication, organisational skills, and a passion for animal welfare and fundraising.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with the event planning team to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of the event.
  • Research and identify potential fundraising opportunities, including online campaigns, sponsorship packages, donation drives, and merchandise sales.
  • Develop creative and compelling fundraising initiatives to attract donors and encourage participation.

Donor Engagement and Cultivation:

  • Cultivate relationships with existing donors and supporters to maintain their engagement and support.
  • Identify and reach out to potential donors, sponsors, and partners to solicit contributions and sponsorships.
  • Develop personalised communication strategies to steward donors and express appreciation for their generosity.

Online Fundraising Campaigns:

  • Manage and promote online fundraising campaigns through platforms such as crowdfunding websites, social media, and email newsletters.
  • Create engaging content, including fundraising appeals, updates, and success stories, to inspire donations and encourage sharing.
  • Monitor campaign progress, track donations, and provide regular updates to donors and supporters.

Event Fundraising Activities:

  • Plan and coordinate fundraising activities and initiatives during the event, such as raffles, auctions, donation booths, and pledge drives..
  • Implement strategies to maximise fundraising opportunities and revenue generation during the event.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Maintain accurate records of donations, sponsorships, and fundraising activities, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Prepare regular reports and updates on fundraising progress, including revenue goals, expenses, and return on investment.

  • Analyse fundraising data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the Santa Paws’ mission
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and supporters.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software, online platforms, and social media for donor engagement and campaign management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed during event preparation and execution.
