Wellbeing in Schools Australia is a small national not for profit organization based in Castlemaine, Victoria. We have been operating for 10 years and have a vision of school communities building resilience in all students, especially the most marginalised and those at risk of marginalization, so they can reach their potential in education and in life.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced volunteer to work closely with the CEO to help promote and outreach WISA to school communities on social media.

This volunteer role will be helping WISA to drive our social media and communications with schools and key stakeholders. WISA has powerful feedback data from wellbeing leaders in schools across Australia. This role will work closely with the WISA CEO to critically review this feedback to inform what we utilize to guide and communicate our direction as a not for profit charity; help WISA decide what is used to inform and lobby governments on school wellbeing needs, strengths and challenges in school communities; and what feedback data is utilized to update or reaffirm that our training, conferences, strategies and resources are effecting positive change and action in schools.

  The Board has identified harnessing parents as vital partners in effecting change. The links to both social media and clarity of communications are vitally important for parent engagement to be effective.

  The volunteer will work closely with the WISA CEO to build and promote the organisation brand, name, and reputation on social media. Initial focus will be on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn platforms. Then outreaching to parents through Instagram. The role requires a high level of professionalism and online social media and communications experience. A retired professional seeking to make a difference is highly suited. Diplomacy, trust and excellent relationships and strong written and visual communication skills are essential.

  • Analysis of School Wellbeing feedback to inform WISA strategy and communications.
  • Contribute to social media growth/strategy
  • Contribute to content creation
  • Scheduling and posting
  • Monitoring of content on platforms
  • Measure engagement and effectiveness of communications
