The successful volunteer will assist in maintaining a strong Finance Team within CHASE. This is an excellent opportunity to develop yourself both personally and professionally, and gain valuable experience in a role that will complement your studies or career.

Specific responsibilities include:

Financial Growth & strategy

  • Develop and implement funding strategies in accordance with financial plans
  • Assist with relevant analysis to support CHASE’s expansion and organizational strategy
  • Successfully engage with potential funding partners to secure financial support for the organisation

Financial Operations

  • Financial Reporting
  • Develop a new budget structure for the organisation to ensure effective and efficient budgeting
  • Maintain an up-to-date budget for portfolios within CHASE, and provide assistance and advice where needed
  • Maintain an up-to-date reimbursements register

Budgeting

  • Develop a new budgeting framework for the organisation
  • Extract accounting information from CHASE’s monthly transactions
  • Transform and collate transaction data into meaningful financial reports (balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements and budget vs. actuals)

Compliance

  • Understand and keep a detailed record of the regulatory requirements set by councils, ATO, ACNC and Consumer Affairs Victoria
  • Ensure that CHASE meets the requirements outlined on grant documents
  • Monitor expenditures and obtain necessary authorisations by relevant portfolio managers
  • Maintain records of all CHASE transactions in Microsoft Excel
  • Manage the annual CHASE Financial Audit
  • Assist the Finance Manager in identifying financial risks within the organisation
