The Position

The NTAV Board is calling for applications from interested persons for appointment to the NTAV Governance & Risk Committee. The role of the Committee is to work with others to ensure the organisation’s corporate governance standards and internal controls are maintained. The Committee reviews and advises the Board on, all matters relating to the risk management framework and the NTAV’s internal governance and risk function.

About You

The Board is seeking voluntary applications from persons:

  • Experienced in governance and risk management practices.

  • That have an understanding of not-for-profit organisational requirements.

  • With legal background or relevant experience who have knowledge of the non for profit sector.

  • Experienced or interested in areas including committees, risk management frameworks, compliance frameworks, business continuity management, reputational risk, privacy compliance, project risk, environmental risk, employment law, work environment (equal opportunity, health and safety, superannuation), the regulatory framework, case study and subject reviews.

The successful candidate will bring experience of providing non-executive oversight of the governance, and risk controls in an appropriately complex organisation. Combined with a track record of building productive relationships with a range of stakeholders, they will also appreciate the distinction between management and governance.

The Committee meets three times a year. Preparation and meeting attendance usually takes a half a day for each meeting.

Appointments are for up to three years and are expected to commence June 2024.
