The Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), the independent higher education accreditation authority of psychology programs for the Australian psychology profession, is inviting applications from a suitably qualified and experienced individual interested in joining its Board of Directors.

With its head office in Melbourne, APAC currently employs 8 staff and has plans for expansion over the coming years as it welcomes a new CEO, implements a new governance structure and embarks on new areas of work on behalf of the Psychology Board of Australia.

We are looking for someone with legal qualifications and/or a background in Law and the ability to bring those skills to the Board.

To be considered for this role, you will also need to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of governance and fiduciary duties associated with being a Director of a registered charity.
  • Ability to contribute strategic thinking to organisational priorities, risk management and business development.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to build networks and professional relationships.
  • Commitment to the values and strategic priorities of APAC.
  • Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) course or equivalent, or willingness to complete.

Directors are paid an honorarium to attend meetings as well as travel and accommodation costs.
