• Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, government agencies, and key stakeholders to advance the organization's policy priorities.
• Advocate for policy changes, funding allocations, and program initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals.
• Work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement strategic advocacy plans aligned with the organisation's goals and priorities.
• Provide guidance and support to staff, volunteers, and board members on advocacy best practices and strategies.
• Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in government relations, advocacy, or public policy roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Search Dogs Sydney Inc.
