About the role 

This is an exciting volunteer role with a talented team of tobacco control experts and will support in the delivery of the Tackling Tobacco Communications Plan.

Reporting to Tiana, Project Coordinator, Tobacco Cessation, the position of Health Communications Officer Volunteer will focus on:

  • Meet Tackling Tobacco newsletter monthly deadline associated with drafts and publications.
  • Monitor and record Tackling Tobacco newsletter KPIs as provided by Campaign Monitor
  • Work with Volunteer Managers to interpret and create innovative tobacco-related health promotion content and/or resources
  • Ensure that all communications are aligned with CCNSW branding and relevant policies.
  • Working with volunteers and staff members, develop content that is clear and concise.

This role is one day a week for a minimum of 6 with the potential to stay on longer based in Wollongong office and has the option to be a hybrid or a remote volunteering role.

About You

  • Experience in using Canva for development of content.
  • Interest and knowledge in public health, marketing, health communications and the not-for-profit sector. 
  • High level computer literacy in Microsoft Office and using other online platforms, e.g. Campaign Monitor.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively individually and as a part of a team.
