Special Olympics Brisbane Club Chair

Do you have a desire to use your skills to lead and guide a club team, be a more active member in your community, encourage friendships and joy through exercise, a passion for sports, and enhance the lives of athletes with an intellectual disability?

Expressions of Interest are currently being sort, for a Club Chair, to improve community awareness of Special Olympics and its programs, lead and guide the club team of volunteers, covering, finance, fundraising, sporting, administrative and support roles, who manage the Brisbane Club.

Special Olympics provides a range of sport, recreation, social and health opportunities for people with an intellectual disability to have fun, be healthy, build self-esteem, demonstrate courage, and make friends.

We strongly encourage and welcome applications from people with strong leadership, administrative or management experience, strong governance to agreed outcomes, preferably a lived experience with intellectual disability, and with the ability to build strong, positive and long term working relationships.

This role is voluntary.

Desirable capabilities to enhance our Club Team: Organisational Leadership, Compassion, Teamwork, Positive Attitude, Finance, Training and Development, Digital and Social Media are skills needed to varying degrees across our voluntary role.

More detailed experience and skills are role specific.

Written EOI’s are welcomed and a short bio or resume accompanying the EOI is desirable.
