We have an exciting opportunity for an Events & Marketing Support Volunteer to join our dynamic team at Cancer Council NSW! As a volunteer, you'll play a crucial role in assisting with various administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of events such as Newcastle Relay for Life, Stars of Newcastle and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Coordinator, the purpose of this role is to provide administration and event assistance on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide essential administrative support to the Community Fundraising Coordinator
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling email communications.
  • Draft and proofread communications, including emails, press releases, and marketing materials.
  • Support logistical coordination for events, working closely with vendors and managing supplies.
  • Contribute to content creation for social media posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Provide on-site support during events, managing registration and addressing logistical needs.

Our ideal volunteer will have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Passion for event planning in the not-for-profit sector.

Time Commitment:

The time commitment for this volunteer position is flexible, with the opportunity to contribute based on your availability. A one day per week would be ideal.
