Shikodo, meaning ‘A Way of Thinking’ is an Australian-based registered not-for-profit organisation, whose purpose is to empower young people to work towards breaking through barriers that may prevent them from reaching their fullest potential. The primary focus of Shikodo’s work is with young marginalised persons who have experienced trauma, displacement, and disempowerment as well as socio-economic challenges. Shikodo provides services in Life Skills Mindset Coaching and Mentoring through the Eight Doors Program both locally and internationally. We believe that having the right mindset and skills makes all the difference. The position may be particularly relevant to those studying teaching or a related discipline and who can relate well to young persons. The tutor will be required about two hours a week.

  • You will require computer efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Interest in empowering young people.
  • Have recent subject knowledge. Volunteer role would suit a University or TAFE student or working or retired professional. Minimum commitment 6 months weekly. You will work as part of a team helping this young woman break through barriers to achieve what others have thought impossible.
