Volunteer Unit Commander NSW SES Moruya Unit
NSW State Emergency ServiceNSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is the lead agency in response to flood, storm and tsunami emergencies. It also provides critical rescue and missing persons search capabilities to other agencies. The organisation is made up almost entirely of volunteers who commit to supporting their community in its time of need.
NSW SES Unit Commanders manage teams of volunteers during recruitment, training, operations and workforce maintenance phases of a volunteer’s lifecycle. The Unit Commander is responsible for ensuring the Operational readiness of his/her Unit to ensure community needs in times of emergency are met. The Unit Commander also ensures the smooth running of a facility and the agency's fleet (road and marine) of equipment within their area.
NSW SES is seeking applications for a Unit Commander in Moruya. The Unit Commander role is assisted by two Deputy Unit Commanders and a Unit Management Team, as well as a small staff contingent tasked with supporting volunteer Units across south eastern NSW.
