Board Member / Treasurer
Girl Guides SAKey Responsibilities of Board Member / Treasurer include:

Participate in discussion relating to the financial affairs of the organisation including topics relating to ensuring appropriate policies, procedures and practices are in place to facilitate compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and Taxation legislation, as well as GGSA and GGA standards.

Participate in discussions relating to financial literacy necessary to conduct the business of Girl Guides SA Inc with probity, the education and advice.

Participate in the identifying financial risk, including advising on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Participate in the audit of the accounts each year and ensure the annual accounts are submitted to members at the Annual General Meeting in an appropriate format.

With the CEO, and in partnership with the Board, oversee the production and regular review of Girl Guides SA’s Budget and Business Plan.

Report on financial standing as well as variances against budget and discuss appropriate corrective actions.

Sign letters or documents on behalf of Girl Guides SA Inc as required. With the CEO, oversee the organisation’s investment strategy and report to the Board.
This role need not be a member of the Association but must be a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant with relevant and current experience.
Experience on a not-for-profit board or regular provision of reports to a not-for-profit Board is preferred but not essential.
