Gunawirra works in the space of supporting school readiness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander jarjums (children) attending preschools in NSW rural areas, as well as Sydney based jarjums and mudjins (families) from birth to school age. We are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led charity staffed by Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal paid staff and volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of jarjums and their mudjins.

Gunawirra is seeking a retired, semi-retired, or under-employed person with Human Resources experience to assist with general HR administration. This position would ideally be filled by someone with a sound knowledge of HR practices, experience and qualifications in HR (desirable), and high-level skills in communication, organisation, attention to detail and computer skills. We are seeking a great volunteer willing to commit to regular support of our organisation with your specialist knowledge and skills.

We are a small and passionate team that often has fun between the busy times and we have a lovely native garden oasis to enjoy a cuppa and lunch and even learn about native ingredients and their uses.

There are regular events and cultural experiences with lunch provided - such as Aboriginal weaving, art, history and bush tucker.
