Established in early 2022 and based in South Australia, the African Violet Growers Group Inc (not-for-profit) is an emerging organisation with a membership base of passionate African Violet and Gesneriad growers.

Role Description

We require your exceptional application development talents for this remote volunteer position. You will develop a mobile phone app that will assist our members in maintaining and tracking their collections of Gesneriads and African Violets. The app design and all requirements have already been completed. It is your task to construct this app for both iOS and Android and you are free to suggest a program that has this feature already integrated. IMPORTANT: You will have a maximum timeframe of one month from your commencement date with us to complete this project, so you will need to allocate your volunteer time to fit within this boundary. Please note this is NOT a paid position; short-term Volunteer Role only (one month duration).

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++

• Excellent knowledge of software development principles and experience with development tools such as Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies a must

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

• Experience with databases and SQL

• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively remotely with the management team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but is not essential

• Prior experience with non-profit or volunteer organisations is a plus.
