Join the Darebin Aboriginal Advisory Committee.
What’s the role? As a member of the Reference Group, you will play a key role in connecting community views with the decision-making processes of Council, by providing strategic advice on Council’s policies, programs and services to people from Culturally and Linguistically Divers Backgrounds including migrant communities.
- Work within the Terms of Reference for the Committee.
- Attend the Reference Group meetings as scheduled. The Reference Group meets a minimum of four (4) times a year on weekday evenings, with additional meetings as required.
- Contribute to group discussions and listen to other people’s ideas in a respectful, collaborative, and kind manner.
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive and psychologically safe environment at all times.
What’s the format? The Reference Group is chaired by a Councillor and is supported by a Council Officer. The committee meets quarterly via hybrid meetings, which usually run for 2 hours, after business hours.
