Media Officers
Householders' Options to Protect the Environment are seeking a volunteer to assist the Management Committee by drafting media releases on matters such as:
- promoting our projects and campaigns;
- endorsing projects and campaigns of our Partner/Alliance members;
- promoting international (and Australian) environmental observance dates (e.g. World Environment Day (5 June) and National Recycling Week (10-16 November)); and
- responding to current environmental issues of interest and/or concern.
We are specifically looking for:
- University students enrolled in Media/Communications courses seeking some voluntary work experience;
- Graduate students wanting to do voluntary work; and/or
- Retired journalists wishing to do some voluntary work
Desirable Attributes:
- good organisational skills
- computer literacy (word, pdf, emails etc.)
- good communicator
- professional manner
Requirements:
- Experience in social media management and content creation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Passion for making a positive impact in the community.
