Scope

The Board of Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne is seeking to appoint a person with experience supporting a Committee or Board. This is a newly created role working with the Leadership Committee. The role ensures the smooth functioning of the Committee, preparing agenda and minutes of the meetings, scheduling meetings and maintaining Committee records.

The duties listed below are indicative and there will be an opportunity for the new incumbent to define role scope and responsibilities.

This part time, volunteer role presents a unique opportunity to work with a small but well-established and well respected not for profit in its next steps towards growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

· Liaise with the Chair and committee members to prepare and distribute meeting agenda and papers four (4) days prior to a Committee meeting

· Attend all Committee meetings to record minutes and action lists

· Schedule Committee meetings, ensuring the Committee members contact email list is updated and accurate

· Manage current and archived Committee meeting files

· Support a positive culture of collaboration across the organisation.

· Ensure a safe and healthy workplace

· Other duties as required.

Skills and Experience

Essential

· High level verbal and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people including Committee members, Board members and other volunteers, when required.

· Demonstrated alignment with Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne’s mission and values

· The time and willingness to commit to the role for a minimum of 12 months

Desirable

· Previous experience in a similar role within a NFP organisation
