ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:

LLAMA is an acronym for League of Latin American Migrants Australia.

LLAMA is an educational not-for-profit organisation and registered charity which aims to provide free quality services, programs and activities that address the needs and challenges faced by the Spanish-speaking communities in Australia.

The free online English classes are for Latinos based in Australia and those overseas who are considering coming to Australia but would like to improve their English first. We are recruiting volunteer English teachers to expand the number and range of our sessions.

ENGLISH CLASSES:

LLAMA runs different kinds of online English classes from Beginner to Upper Intermediate level, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday in the morning and evening by Zoom.

Each session lasts an hour and 15 minutes and is delivered in a friendly setting without the pressure of being in a classroom. This allows participants to share their experiences with other people who are in the same situation. Group sizes range from 5 to 20 individuals. Students are assigned to you, so there is no need to build up your own student base.

THE ROLE

The role of the online English teachers is to help participants build confidence in their English language skills. Participants are adult migrants from 18 to 65 of age, from a Spanish-speaking background.
