We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Support Volunteer to join our dynamic team at Cancer Council NSW and assist with Stars of Hastings Dance for Cancer.

As a volunteer, you'll play a crucial role in assisting the Community Fundraising Coordinator at the gala event and at the Stars' fundraising events.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Coordinator, the purpose of this role is to provide event assistance.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide event assistance to the Community Fundraising Coordinator
  • Represent Cancer Council at Stars’ fundraising events in the absence of Community Fundraising Coordinators
  • Welcome guests to the event, providing an exceptional customer service so that our supporters have a memorable and meaningful experience at our events building long-term loyalty and support
  • Provide on the day support and assistance
  • Support on with raffle tickets, prize payments and donations received during the event
  • Support the setup of the event, and the pack down of event materials and items
  • Assist with the delivery of programs and activities during the event
  • Working with the team, ensure that all hazards and incidents are reported to the staff partner
  • Support logistical coordination for events, working closely with vendors and managing supplies.
  • Provide on-site support during events, managing registration and addressing logistical needs.

Our ideal volunteer will have:

  • Confident customer service / stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Passion for event planning in the not-for-profit sector
