1. Who is the Racial Justice Centre

RJC is a not-for-profit founded by lawyers with lived experiences. RJC’s purpose is to eliminate racism and racial injustice, using the legal system, education and reform. It is fighting for a world where all people can live, thrive and enjoy life without racism.

2. Duties

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of RJC events, including conferences, seminars, trainings, and social events.
  • Managing all aspects of event planning, from budgeting and venue selection to catering and logistics.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with event vendors and sponsors
  • Tracking and reporting on event attendance and subscriptions
  • Working with the Marketing lead to coordinate the promotion of events
  • Providing excellent customer service to event attendees

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and to share information and expertise
