Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of others? Do you have a heart for the elderly, with a desire to bring joy and companionship to their lives? If so, we invite you to become a Social Support Volunteer at our aged care facility!

At St Barts, we believe that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and companionship, especially in their golden years. Our residents are some of the most vulnerable individuals in community and we are committed to providing them with the highest quality of care and support.

As a Social Support Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in meaningful conversations and provide companionship to our residents.
  • Listen to their stories and experiences.
  • Participate in various activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, and more.
  • Accompany residents on walks, outings, or simply spend quality time with them indoors.
  • Helping the Lifestyle Officer run planned social activities.
  • Accompanying Residents to their scheduled appointments.

No prior experience is required – all you need is a compassionate heart and a willingness to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether you're a student, a working professional, or a retiree looking to give back to the community, we welcome you to join our diverse team of volunteers.

Benefits of volunteering with us:

  • Personal fulfillment and the opportunity to make a positive impact.
  • Flexible scheduling to fit your availability – choose the hours that work best for you.
  • Join a supportive community of like-minded individuals who share your passion.
  • Gain valuable experience in aged care and develop valuable skills in listening, communication, empathy, and compassion.
  • Forge meaningful connections with our residents and become a cherished part of their lives.
