School Curriculum Advisor/Education Officer

Key duties

  • provide input into the development of Bradman Museum Education Policy to provide a strategic plan and framework of action to address the provision of education services for Bradman Museum users
  • help develop revised and new versions of curriculum materials
  • direct teaching - lectures, artefact handling sessions, guided tours, workshops, role-play sessions, holiday activities
  • information services - development of resources (e.g. teachers' packs, bibliographies, teacher notes, worksheets, gallery notes, FAQs)
  • museum based service delivery - education via displays/on site exhibitions, publications, travelling exhibitions, events
  • outreach service delivery - travelling exhibitions, audio-visual materials, distance learning packs, loan service, slides sets, work with communities
  • development of an education room/space within the museum facilities

Skills/experience

  • educators (or similar) with experience in various age groups, including: pre-school children (children, parents, carers); school aged children (students, teachers); tertiary students; family groups; community groups.
  • working with museum/gallery collections desirable
