Volunteer Driver in Residential Aged Care- Bass Hill, NSW

Volunteering in our Aged Care Centres is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills. Weeroona Village Aged Care is a residential care facility with 102 residents. This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in working in Aged Care residential settings, and working with vulnerable frail aged people.
Job Description
Weeroona offers outings to our residents throughout the week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Being a volunteer driver, you will be supporting our residents in going on adventures and getting out of their rooms and exploring. Volunteer bus drivers are supported by Weeroona team members on all outings.
As part of your role you will also assist clients to and from vehicle (avoiding undertaking physical lifting or personal care duties) and assist clients with seating adjustments and seat belts when requested.
Maintenance of vehicle is also required.

Qualifications and experience requirements for the Role
LR Drivers License
Be prompt, courteous and respectful when interacting with residents, families and colleagues
Great communication skills
Empathy working with residential care residents
Mandatory requirements for the role
Willingness to undertake The Salvation Army’s Criminal History Record Check (at the organisation’s expense)
NDIS Worker Check
Willingness to engage in training provided for the role.
