Toy Library Session Coordinator

Middle Dural Toy Library Incorporated

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the operation of toy library sessions at least once a month.
  • Independently open and prepare the toy library for sessions, ensuring a welcoming and organised environment.
  • Coordinate with and support session volunteers in their roles.
  • Engage in lending toys to members, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Interact positively with members, assisting them in selecting appropriate toys and providing information about the library’s policies, programs, and services.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the toy library, including sanitising toys and play areas.
  • Close and secure the library at the end of the session.
  • Assist in the management of the toy library’s inventory, including restocking shelves and cataloguing new toys.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all ages.
  • Experience in customer service or a similar role is desirable.
  • A keen interest in child development and play-based learning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other volunteers and work as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Australian regulations.
  • Commitment to volunteer for a minimum of one session per month, with each session typically running from 9:30am to 12:30pm on Saturdays.
