Community Education Volunteer
Are you interested in how we respond to death? Would you like to make death and after-death care more personal, empowered and potentially healing? We are seeking people to support the delivery of holistic death education in various settings within the community by joining our Community Education Team as a volunteer. This is an opportunity to make a huge difference in your community by empowering people to have more engaged relationship with dying, death and the funeral process.
This exciting role seeks to engage people in discussions that empower individuals to understand what they can do to prepare for death by having opportunities to participate in open conversations about death and funeral planning in a supported way. The role also focuses on talking about Tender, how we are different, as well as why and how we are doing death differently. It will share Tender’s values, Credo and culture.
Understanding that life is finite, and how having a relationship with death has a positive impact on how we live and how we die, is important for this role. Also understanding the need many people have to reclaim community-based death care practices, and how doing that contributes to healthy grieving.
To do this role you will need:
- to feel comfortable talking in front of small/medium groups
- enjoying being part of a passionate team
- love being a public face of Tender Funerals Mid North Coast and sharing our good work
- good people, communication and facilitation skills
- a current Working With Children Check
