Positions are available for volunteer transport/bus assistant to help the driver with client transport/shopping trips. This position is suited to someone seeking to help older people engage and connect with their community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver with safe and comfortable transport of clients to and from pre-arranged destinations.

• Assist clients in and out of the vehicle as required.

• Assist clients with their shopping bags, if necessary.

• Ensure all clients have seatbelts secured during transport.

• Comply with the organization’s WHS standards and other policies and procedures.

Essential Attributes:

• Positive “can do” attitude.

• Be passionate about the organization’s mission and vision and what it does.

• Commitment to work with frail aged, people with disabilities and their carers.

• Empathetic, trustworthy, patient and reliable.

• Willing to learn and work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

• Willing to work weekends on roster basis.

• Current first aid certificate is an advantage.

• Open to working with people from diverse backgrounds.
