We're looking for someone who understands chronic pain through a carer's lens. Work with a wonderful co-chair to create a safe and inclusive space. As a Facilitator you will help people: ~ share their experiences of supporting someone living with chronic pain,
~ educate the group about self-care and boundary setting, and ~ understand resources available to support carer's needs.

Tasks will include;

  • Prepare materials for group (supplied by APMA & you),
  • With the support of APMA, work with experts to present guest speakers to the group (at least 3 times per year),
  • Hold meetings at least monthly on zoom,
  • Interact with group participants in a Closed Facebook Group, on Messenger, by webSMS, phone or email (at least one method) to RSVP for meetings,
  • Complete basic evaluation so APMA can report on the effectiveness of our services.

The group meets monthly, however a facilitator is needed only once a month for up to 3 hours.

APMA offers training, and a wonderful inclusive team environment.

Volunteers will be supported through resources, induction training, insurance coverage, certificate and references (as appropriate).

PLEASE NOTE: This is a community service providing peer support, and as such, we ask no practicing health professionals or training/ studying health professionals to apply unless they have a lived experience of supporting someone with a chronic health condition or chronic pain.
