ACVVS program is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS), regulated by the Department of Health and Aged Care, and initiated by Catholic Community Services. The program serve culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents, who isolated by limited family support, language and cultural barriers.

Sydney MCS recruit, train, and support volunteers to visit eligible residents either in an aged care facility or at home. The Visitors Volunteer will be matched with aged care residents according to language and cultural backgrounds.

Essential Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client including confidentiality, privacy and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional skills, teamwork, reporting, commitment, community services skill, and other skills which will be helpful in assisting the seniors and aged care community.

Requirements: • COVID-19 third vaccination (the first booster) is MUST. • Complete a mandatory Police check. • Inductions and online training provided by Sydney MCS.
