Volunteers will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure all presenting clients are dealt with in a professional, confidential, dignified and friendly manner.

  • Ensure all record keeping associated with assistance is accurate and done in a timely manner.

  • Maintain confidentiality according to the Society’s Code of Conduct and legislation.

  • Receive and respond appropriately to phone calls, emails and general correspondence.

  • Respond to client enquiries/requests.

  • Ensure messages are relayed to appropriate staff, members and volunteers.

  • Attend to visitors.

  • Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, photocopying, filing, preparing promotional material etc.

  • Completing documentation i.e. notes, relevant forms etc in a timely manner

  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly administration requirements in accordance with policy.

  • Organise delivery of goods to clients.

  • Contribute to the preparation of meetings as required.

  • Archive files as requested by VSCC.

  • Ensure all financial processes are followed according to Finance policies and procedures.

  • Maintain the food pantry cupboards in various sections of VSC

  • Maintain good relationships with other service providers that interact with Vinnies Support Centres and its clients.

  • Process transaction resulting from members providing assistance to clients eg EAPA, food vouchers, food hampers and other services provided by members and staff.

  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings.

  • Perform other related duties as may be requested from time to time.

  • Participate in training workshops and ongoing professional development.

  • Contribute to a safe working environment for members, staff and volunteers by adhering to the Society’s workplace health and safety practices.

  • Contribute to the implementation of effective risk management procedures to ensure compliance with legal, employment and governance requirements.
