Veterans Volunteer Driver - Narrabeen - # 205218
The role of the volunteer drive at Homes for Heros is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection and connection, and community for veterans. The driver will assist team by driving our clients - veterans to wellbeing appointments and various activities, such as golf, fishing, etc.
Main tasks:

Collect the veterans from the agreed pick-up point in ANZAC Village in Narrabeen and drive them to the agreed location, as advised by the member of staff

Be available between the agreed time and drive the vehicles to the agreed location

Ensure that all road and parking signs are obeyed and that passengers alight in a safe area

Provide social support to veterans

Drive the veterans back to the agreed location, as advised by the member of staff

Attend Volunteer Check-ins every 8 weeks, at the mutually convenient time

Communicate and report concerns, issues and feedback to staff
Personal Qualities:

Have current Class C driver licence and a good driving record, which may be checked at any time

Have a sound knowledge of road rules and be comfortable driving more than one person in one vehicle

Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds

Be reliable, flexible and committed

Show patience, kindness and empathy for all passengers
