Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre aims to be a leading provider in Southeastern Sydney of services that enhance the wellbeing and resilience of individuals and communities with the best quality services delivery. The Centre operates according to a philosophy of open management and aims to reflect the local community by encouraging participation and discussion about all issues relevant to the community and to the running of the Centre.

SHNC is seeking to appoint non-executive directors with expertise and/or demonstrated skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Children’s Services

• Law

• Business Development

We currently have 6 Board members and are seeking people to join the Board who bring the required skills. The Board has identified the need for people who bring:

• Leadership and professional experience in Governance of a Not-For- Profit organisation.

• Interest in our social justice-based community services in the City of Sydney Local Government Area and Southeastern Sydney

• Personal qualities that fit with our values of accountability, professionalism, social justice, participation, respect, collaboration and courage.
