Volunteer Retail Team Member – Treasures Op Shop

Role Overview
Retail team members have responsibility for effective retail customer service in Norlane Community Centre Treasures Op Shop. A retail team member is a valued and respected position with the NCC Treasures Op Shop. Volunteers will assist in promoting and driving sales, through effective customer service, store cleanliness and assisting with merchandising of products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receiving and sorting incoming merchandise.
  • Hanging and sorting store merchandise.
  • Cleaning and light restoration of stock.
  • Customer Service duties.
  • Maintaining direct sales items.
  • Being vigilant of shop lifters, reporting and recording where necessary.
  • Handling cash.
  • Ensure point of sale procedure including EFTPOS is adhered to.
  • Provide a high level courteous and professional service to all customers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all matters relating to staff, customers, procedures and security (both during rostered shifts and outside of volunteering hours).
  • Promote a proactive approach to Occupational Health & Safety taking reasonable care for own safety and health and safety of others.
  • Be neat in appearance, wear appropriate footwear and wear high visibility clothing when necessary.
  • Other duties as required by the Manager or Team Leader.
  • Reports to: The Norlane Community Centre Office Manager and Coordinator Supervises: Treasures Op Shop Manager, Treasures Op Shop staff, External Liasons: Community customers and suppliers.
