Fundraising / Events Coordinator
Scout Groups within QueenslandResponsibilities will include: • Work with the Committee and others to identify potential fundraising and information providing opportunities e.g. Bunnings sausage sizzles; school fetes; community events; and sporting events. • Schedule fundraising events and co-ordinating fellow Volunteers to participate. • Assisting scouting sections with their fund-raising activities when requested. • Conduct community outreach to identify fundraising partners and sponsors, and represent Kurilpa Scouts Group at meetings these community partners. • Providing monthly Reports on activities to the Committee. • Obtain professional quotes from providers of relevant goods and services required to ensure successful projects. • Keep accurate records of all expenditure (e.g. receipts) for speedy reimbursement.
Required attributes:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Ability to co-ordinate the activities of other volunteers as their leader.
• Ability to work as part of a committee of like-minded people.
• You will be required to become an Adult Volunteer and to participate in 3 short on-line training modules as required by Scouts Queensland within your first 3 months.
• You will be required to apply for a Blue Card for working with children.
Skill Development: We envisage this volunteer role will enhance skills you already have as well as providing experience in the non-profit sector as an excellent addition to your resume. It would also suit someone recently retired who wishes to continue to use those skills.
